After years of having students use iPhones to record pre-screenings for colleges and competitions, I got tired of hearing the compressed "toy-like" sound a trumpet can get on a built in microphone on an iPhone or other personal electronic device. That's why I invested in a lot of professional equipment such as ribbon microphones, Apollo audio interface, and learned to use Logic Pro and Final Cut Pro to create a polished, professional sound for all of their recordings.
